Nightbell serves up craft cocktail with local honey
Passengers on Allegiant flights are reading about Asheville this month, with a buzzworthy focus: honey. Asheville is the inaugural Bee City USA, which we will celebrate during Pollinator Week in June.
The Sunseeker article showcases bee-centric establishments in Asheville where local honey is sold or used in select dishes and cocktails.
One of Nightbell’s signature cocktails is mentioned for its use of the sweet stuff: “the refreshing Penicillin #3 cocktail that pairs apple pie moonshine and honey ginger syrup.” Bartenders use honey from Wild Mountain Apiaries near Mars Hill, N.C. to create the unique drink.
Also mentioned in Sunseeker are Asheville Bee Charmer, Tupelo Honey, The Market Place, Early Girl Eatery, Burial Beer, Bee & Bramble, Fox Hill Meadery, City Bakery, and French Broad Chocolates, who offer tastes of honey to eat and drink.
Spa treatments at the Grove Arcade’s Wake Foot Sanctuary & Spa and the Grove Park Inn incorporate honey. Reynolds Mansion Bed & Breakfast even has beehives on site to supply guests with a taste of Asheville.
Make a reservation at Nightbell to taste the Penicillin #3 cocktail along with a sampling of local products incorporated into Chef Katie Button’s creative small plates!
