Asheville’s Summer of Glass at Cúrate
The Asheville, North Carolina community is filled with local artists. The River Arts District, downtown Asheville and the surrounding areas house an abundance of galleries and workshops to explore! Also nearby is the Penland School of Crafts in Yancey, NC, helping to feed the local art scene. Among the potters, painters and sculptors who have found a home in this mountain town are masters in glass blowing and glass art.
From May to October 2018, in conjunction with the installation of Dale Chihuly’s monumental glass sculptures at the world-famous Biltmore House, Asheville will also host The Summer of Glass, a myriad of activities to support the local glass community. These events will include gallery and workshop tours, classes and glass exhibitions.
As part of The Summer of Glass in Asheville, several pieces of glass from local artisans have been placed in Cúrate. They are in the open shelving near the front of the restaurant, and above the full menu tapas bar for your enjoyment! If you’re interested in the full Summer of Glass experience, you can sign up for a VIP Weekend Tour through Art Connections.
