Cook along with Chef Katie Button and Félix Meana as they present “​A Taste of Spain from a North Carolina Kitchen” at the 2021 Food & Wine Classic in Aspen!

While festival attendees enjoy bites demonstrated and served by Chef Katie, at-home viewers can cook along with this special box of celebrated Spanish ingredients. The box includes a signed copy of Chef Katie’s cookbook, Cúrate: Authentic Spanish Food from an American Kitchen, and everything needed to assemble the dishes served in Aspen:

  • Montadito de Sobrasada Cúrate: housemade sobrasada with goat cheese, honey, and marcona almonds, on an artisanal cracker
  • Espárragos Blancos con Boquerones: preserved white asparagus, pickled white anchovies, and Cúrate all i oli, plus a recipe to prepare an optional fennel-apple salad
  • Pimientos de Piquillo Rellenos: piquillo peppers stuffed with Spanish goat cheese, fully assembled and ready to enjoy! Plus a recipe to prepare an optional salsa verde

Katie & Felix’s demonstration will be streamed live on the Foods & Wines from Spain Facebook page from 3:00-4:00pm MST on Saturday, September 11, and available for viewing afterward, too. Packages ordered by Tuesday, September 7 will be shipped to arrive Friday, September 10. The box includes:

  • Cúrate Sobrasada: Cúrate’s housemade sobrasada—an epic, spreadable, traditional dry-cured pork and paprika sausage.
  • Little Friar Goat Cheese: High-quality milk from Murciana goats gives this cheese its fantastic creaminess. It is sweet, smooth, and not at all gamey.
  • Lavender Blossom Honey: This subtle, floral honey with aromas of wild lavender has been harvested in Valencia every spring since 1919.

  • Espárragos Blancos: Tender and delicate white asparagus spears, traditionally served with a dollop of all i oli or mayonnaise. What is so special about white asparagus? As the shoots grow out of the ground, they are shielded from sunlight, which prevents them from developing color or toughness. These are a true Spanish delicacy.
  • Boquerones, White Cantabrian Anchovies: Boquerones are white Cantabrian anchovies that have been marinated in vinegar, garlic and herbs, then hand packed in olive oil. Produced by Bahia de la Concha.
  • Cúrate All i Oli: The traditional Catalan version of the garlicky condiment, directly from the chefs at Cúrate.
  • Pimientos de Piquillo Rellenos: Piquillo peppers stuffed with Spanish goat cheese (6 pieces); Serve at room temperature as part of an appetizer spread or sear quickly on both sides in a pan until just warmed through to serve as a side dish with lunch or dinner.
  • Plus recipes for two optional additions—fennel-apple salad and salsa verde—which may be prepared at home
