Only in Our State: Cúrate makes the North Carolina list

Onlyinyourstate.com compiled a list of the best restaurants in North Carolina that are difficult to get into. Cúrate Tapas Bar comes in at #4, the only Asheville restaurant on the list.

Curate

Guests at Cúrate sit at the bar to watch the chefs prepare tapas.

“You don’t have to travel to Spain to experience authentic tapas, or small plates, you’ll just have to travel to Asheville (and make your reservation in advance). The ever popular Cúrate sealed its mark as a top foodie destination in Asheville.”

It’s an eclectic list:

  1. Kindred in Davidson
  2. Passion8, in Charlotte – Chef Luca
  3. Heritage Food & drink, Waxhaw
  4. Cúrate
  5. Colington Café in Kill Devil Hills
  6. Table 16 restaurant in Greensboro
  7. Beasley’s Chicken and Honey, Chef Ashley Christensen’s comfort food spot in Raleigh
  8. Snappy Lunch, in rustic Mount Airy
  9. Dan’l Boone Inn Restaurant in Boone
  10. Catch in Wilmington, with food by Chef Keith Rhodes

Some of these restaurants require reservations, some you just wait to get in. Cúrate is a combination of both, with tables to reserve (we take reservations up to 90 days in advance) or bar and high-top seating for walk-ins, which often becomes a waitlist. The cooking “show” in the open kitchen makes the bar a coveted spot to dine. Lunch and early afternoon is generally an easier time to get in for a taste of the tapas at Cúrate. Hope to see you there!
